The KJ Kit - From A Bride's Perspective

let’s be real…

Are you having a hard time feeling confident about wedding dress shopping through these “Virtual Appointments” you keep hearing about? Don’t worry, we get it. The KJ Kit is beyond a normal virtual appointment. In fact, we refuse to even call it that! Our KJ Kit brings the couture boutique experience to the comfort and safety of your own home. Still unsure? Hear the details from our #kjbride, Morgan, herself!

We were so excited to have Morgan as one of our daring #kjbrides who was able to purchase her gown using our chic new program called “The KJ Kit”!
So, we decided to ask her a few questions…

When is your wedding?

My wedding is scheduled for March 6, 2021 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

How did you hear about The KJ Kit?

I saw it on KJ’s instagram story and clicked the link to get more info from the website. I honestly wasn’t too sure if I would be able to participate since I live so far, but once I saw an option to possibly try dresses at home I had to try!

What made you want to book a “virtual appointment” during this time?

I live in Hawaii, and Kinsley James was the only store I really wanted to try to find a dress from. Due to covid-19, I was starting to feel like I wasn’t going to get to do that and I was pretty disappointed. Traveling right now is difficult, so a virtual appointment is definitely better than not getting an appointment at all!

How were you feeling going into the process of trying on dresses at your own home?

I was definitely nervous because I wouldn’t have the consultant to help me get into the gowns, but my mom and sister did a great job and the kit came with everything we needed! The stylist really put my mind at ease and she did great helping us out via webcam.

What do you think of the process of ordering a #kjkit?

It was so easy! I filled out the contact form online and I think I got a phone call just a day or two later. I was surprised how fast and easy the process was. My consultation was amazing. The stylist, Alexia, texted me and really helped me narrow down my dress options to find the perfect ones for me to try on. It really was just like shopping in the store, but we did a long distance version. Alexia sent me lots of photos of the dresses I was most interested in, and also gave me some details to help me narrow down my choice (such as weight of the dress, color, fit, etc.) Then, once I chose my 3 dresses she shipped them out super quick! It only took about a week to get everything done.

Did the KJ Kit succeed in providing the couture experience from the comfort and safety of your home?

Yes, I think it did. It’s hard to compare to having to true experience of being in the store and I would have loved to be able to travel to LA to do that, but taking everything into consideration I think the KJ Kit was very successful in making me feel special and like I wasn’t missing out on anything. I loved the little details like the sign, notebook, champagne and jewelry to try. It didn’t feel like I just got some dresses in the mail to try on. I even got to video chat with Netta Benshabu (the designer) herself which is crazy and so amazing.

Do you have any advice for other brides trying to find their dream gown during this time?

Right now my biggest worry was that I wouldn’t be able to find my dream dress and I would’ve had to settle. Dresses have to be ordered several months in advance and with the uncertainty of how long stores will have to be closed, I think the KJ Kit is truly an amazing option for brides. If you want your gown from Kinsley James and your wedding is in the near future, I highly suggest this process! It gave me something to look forward too, and also put my mind at ease that I was able to “say yes to the dress!”

now it’s your turn!
